Product details

Roku is a perfectly-balanced, exceptional gin combining six distinctive Japanese botanicals with eight traditional botanicals. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Roku is the prestigious gin that offers the best of every season. Sakura flower, Sakura leaf, Yuzu peel, Sencha tea (green tea), Gyokuro tea (refined green tea) and Sanshō pepper. Six Japanese botanicals cultivated over four seasons, carefully selected to create Roku, Japan’s authentic craft gin. Each botanical has been harvested at the peak of its season to extract the best flavor, then distilled to fully embody the blessings of nature. The harvest of the four seasons has been blended to create Roku's balanced flavor.

Tasting notes

Complex, multi layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture. The crisp Japanese sansho pepper brings a little spiciness to the finish.

ROKU, JAPANESE CRAFT

Well before Shinjiro Torii founded Suntory, he dreamed of creating a whisky that would not only appeal to the delicate Japanese palate, but also be embraced by the rest of the world. Bringing his dream to life, Shinjiro established Suntory in 1899 to brew and distill a variety of liquors, including gin. Today, Roku Gin embodies Shinjiro’s singular vision. The Japanese culinary concept of shun (pronounced shoon) refers to the tradition of enjoying every food and drink in its proper season, and only when the ingredients are at the peak of their flavors. Each ingredient in Roku Gin is captured in its ideal moment, harvested from the best growing areas in Japan at the peak of their season. The ingredients are specifically prepared and each treated differently – a testament to the House of Suntory’s commitment to monozukuri craftsmanship. For Roku Gin, one way this art is expressed is through its six Japanese botanicals. Sakura flower, Sakura leaf, Yuzu peel, Sencha tea (green tea), Gyokuro tea (refined green tea) and Sanshō pepper. These botanicals are cultivated over four seasons, and carefully selected to create Japan’s authentic craft gin.
